Evidence label: This is a political-event notice based on a poster, the Recall Bowinn Ma campaign page, Bowinn Ma’s official MLA office listing and Elections BC’s current-recall page. NewsForBC is reporting what the sources say; the poster’s political criticisms are campaign claims, not findings by NewsForBC.

What the poster says
The poster uses the headline “Bowinn Ma, your time is up” and says “Our community deserves better.” It lists the issues as rising costs, housing crisis, broken promises and lack of accountability. It describes the event as including short speeches, guest speakers, community discussion, signs and peaceful participation.
The poster also asks supporters to consider donating and volunteering for outreach, sign waving, canvassing and administrative support.
What the campaign page adds
The Recall Bowinn Ma event page describes the rally as an afternoon of community engagement, speeches and information about an upcoming recall campaign. It says attendees can hear campaign updates, learn how the process works, meet other community members and speak with volunteers.
The campaign page lists speakers including Daniel Thiele as host, Barry Neufeld, Jim McMurtry, Dr. Mel Bruchet, Honveer Randhawa and Ehsan Arjmand. NewsForBC has not independently confirmed each speaker’s attendance beyond the campaign page listing.
Recall-status context
There is an important distinction between a recall campaign preparing materials and an official recall petition that appears on Elections BC’s current-petitions page.
As checked by NewsForBC, Elections BC’s current-recall-petitions page listed a current petition for Vancouver-Quilchena MLA Dallas Brodie. It did not list a current issued recall petition for Bowinn Ma at the time checked. The Recall Bowinn Ma campaign site says it has an approved recall advertising sponsor registration and refers to a proposed/upcoming recall campaign. That means the public should not read this notice as confirmation that Elections BC has already issued a Bowinn Ma recall petition.
Why this matters
North Vancouver-Lonsdale voters are being invited into a live political accountability effort focused on affordability, housing and representation. Whether residents support or oppose the campaign, a public rally outside an MLA office is a local political event worth documenting, especially when organizers are tying the event to the province’s recall process.
