[0.0-7.0] Hi everybody, Dallas Brody here. I'm standing outside of Vancouver City Hall where I spent [7.0-12.3] the evening tonight waiting for my turn to speak. I was supposed to be speaker number 40, [12.3-17.7] but they only got up to, I believe it was 25 tonight. So they've adjourned the hearing [17.7-24.7] today until next Monday. Now what was the hearing about? It was about this massive plan [24.7-32.1] to absolutely reconfigure and redesign the entire city of Vancouver. Most people in [32.1-37.2] Vancouver only became aware of the shocking plan about two weeks ago. It's going to [37.2-45.3] create what they call villages, aka 15-minute cities, all over Vancouver, and they're in [45.3-51.5] a very cynical and sneaky way. The city staff has decided to bring this forward for [51.5-58.6] public hearing today, starting today July 14 in the middle of the summer when I know so [58.6-63.0] many people in Vancouver are away with their families or taking time out and they're not [63.0-69.3] focused at all on politics. This is what we're seeing more and more. In any event, despite [69.3-75.0] the fact that they tried to pull this fast one on the electorate of Vancouver, there are [75.0-81.1] at least 192 speakers signed up to speak. We only got to 25 today and I would say that [81.1-88.1] the comments tonight were running 5-1 opposed to this crazy plan. I have to say that the [88.1-93.3] people who stood up to support it really looked like they were practiced plants and that [93.3-103.2] they were sort of the ideologues behind a lot of this eco-density villages, making everybody [103.2-109.9] walk everywhere and strangling the city with more and more of these intense little villages. [109.9-116.1] Everybody wants this plan. I've had hundreds of calls, texts and emails from constituents [116.1-121.9] in Vancouver, Koshena saying how much they're upset about this. My riding and people of my [121.9-126.4] riding tend to be pretty apathetic but this one has them wide awake. So anyway, I was [126.4-130.4] here tonight waiting my turn. Didn't get on tonight but I will be back on Monday and [130.4-134.9] I will make sure I get a chance to speak to the counselors at City Hall and urge them [134.9-141.0] to vote against this crazy plan. Talk to you soon. Hope you have a good night, signing off.
