[0000.0-0005.9] I just saw an ad from the government on TikTok that really pissed me off and I think I got to share this with you so you can see this bullshit too. [0005.9-0007.9] From BC Hydro. [0008.4-0010.4] Well it's got a cute superhero theme. [0010.4-0013.9] Hey, here's a new low flow shower hat. [0013.9-0015.4] Fuck off. [0015.4-0021.0] BC Hydro is saying to save electricity and save water, go to a low flow shower hat. [0021.0-0028.0] Meanwhile BC Hydro is allocating 400 megawatts to new AI data centers. [0028.0-0033.5] BC Hydro revealed that demand is growing faster than anticipated just months earlier. [0033.5-0038.5] New data center and AI related loads one of the higher demand drivers of growth. [0038.5-0046.5] Electricity requirements projected to be 2,700 gigawatt hours more than BC Hydro forecasted. [0046.5-0053.5] Site C dam that $16 billion 10 year project is 1,100 megawatt hours. [0053.5-0055.5] Just to put that into perspective. [0056.0-0063.0] They're basically giving up over 50% of our brand new dam to AI data centers. [0063.0-0080.0] Then they have the nerve to tell us to put in a shitty low flow shower head that barely gets their soap off of you because you the average person that lives in this province lives in this country has to make the sacrifice because we need all that extra power to go to AI and data centers. [0080.0-0086.0] We got to take all that water, all that electricity, give it to our AI corporate billionaire overlords. [0086.0-0090.0] They say don't worry though, these AI data centers are going to be good for the economy. [0090.0-0091.5] They're going to grow things. [0091.5-0099.5] Well, I'm tired of all this economic growth of our standards of living are going down and what good do the jobs do from an AI data center? [0099.5-0101.0] How many people do they employ? [0101.0-0106.5] How about we provide electricity to industries that actually employ meaningful number of people. [0106.5-0113.0] Right now, the BC Hydro's industrial interconnection backlog is 7,000 megawatt hours. [0113.0-0119.5] These are things like mining projects, L&D, ports, other industrial projects seeking for electricity service. [0119.5-0120.5] These create jobs. [0120.5-0128.5] Our own shop right here is currently sitting here at a stage installed production because we don't have our electrical interconnection hooked up. [0128.5-0133.0] We've got our conduit ran right here that are tranched in right to the pole. [0133.0-0134.0] No hook up yet. [0134.0-0136.0] We still have a diesel gen electricity. [0136.0-0149.9] That's right, Canada's electric truck manufacturer has to run a diesel generator to power operations on our property because BC Hydro hasn't been able to put those operations onto electric yet. [0149.9-0155.9] For the record, the generators right there, the power lines are right there, the sawmill run and the generators right there. [0155.9-0161.9] When we built Site-C dam, we flooded that farmland, we kicked people out of their houses, and for what? [0161.9-0166.9] So a bunch of billionaires could build an AI data center in Vancouver. That is stupid. [0166.9-0174.9] How about we put that electricity to businesses and this province actually employ people, and we stopped telling people to use low flow shower heads to save water. [0174.9-0176.9] And we stopped this bullshit.
