They have more influence over government decisions and more access to politicians than everyday British Columbians.Only organized people power can balance out the money, lobbying and propaganda of international cartels like the oil and gas industry. B.C. is a unique place because of the strength of Indigenous nations that refused to surrender control of their lands. All British Columbians have a responsibility to support Indigenous communities resisting colonial violence and revitalizing their languages and laws. At the same time, we need to engage with government institutions, however flawed they may be. We fight for reforms that limit the power of corporations, and work to increase participation in our democracy. Through organizing, we can give more people a voice in the important decisions that shape our shared future.
