## Method and limits

This is source-linked summarization, not original on-scene reporting. NewsForBC uses original wording and credits the reporting behind each item. This morning edition draws on October 25–26 coverage, with an October 22 municipal release for primary-source context. “Why it matters” is NewsForBC analysis. Plans and election projections are not completed decisions; emergency and travel information may change.

All four requested feeds were scanned. Seven distinct public-interest stories were selected; multiple reports on the government transition and the Victoria fire were consolidated rather than counted separately. National fillers, sports and newscast listings were excluded. All cited publisher article pages were retrieved successfully and read; the municipality’s clinic release was also checked. Full publisher text and RSS discovery extracts are retained privately, not republished.

The Victoria sources differ in their descriptions of the continuing response. CHEK specifically attributes extinguishment and hot-spot monitoring to the city; CityNews supports the demolition and displacement context, not a claim that the main fire was still burning Monday. No new conclusion about unconfirmed occupants is made. The government item reports plans neutrally without endorsing policy. Clinic, paving and meter schedules are proposals or reported plans, not guarantees.
