0:01 12 people are injured after an incident 0:02 at Cultus Lake Water Park this morning. 0:05 Emergency crews responded to the site on 0:07 Columbia Valley Road at around 11:20. 0:10 Paramedics provided medical care to a 0:12 total of 12 patients. Two were taken to 0:14 hospital by air ambulance, 10 others by 0:17 ambulance. BC Hydro confirms the issue 0:20 was electrical in nature and that it 0:23 originated on the customer's side of the 0:26 electrical service. The water park is 0:28 closed to the public today, but does 0:30 host school groups during the week for 0:32 endofear field trips. Earlier today at 0:35 11:20 in the morning, we responded to 0:37 reports of numerous individuals who who 0:39 were suffering from injuries at a water 0:41 park in Cultus Lake. So, paramedics and 0:43 first responders attended very quickly, 0:46 which allowed them to administer first 0:48 aid to those affected. Uh the highway 0:51 was closed closed down for a substantial 0:53 amount of time to allow medical services 0:55 to get those injured to hospital. 12 0:58 people were transported to hospital with 1:01 serious but non-lifethreatening injuries 1:03 out of more precautionary. The Chilowak 1:05 RCMP continues to be engaged in the 1:07 investigation which has now been 1:09 transferred over to workplace BC. So 1:12 this incident is not believed to be 1:14 caused by human involvement. Uh it's an 1:18 isolated incident and there is no 1:20 further risk to the public at this time. 1:22 Several were transported by an ambulance 1:25 but on the road and then there there 1:26 were at least two air ambulances that 1:29 did attend the area which is another 1:31 reason why we had to close the highway 1:32 down to make space for the air ambulance 1:35 to arrive and transport those injured to 1:37 the hospital.
