This remains an evolving situation. Information and links on this page will be updated as they become available. We appreciate your patience as staff and volunteers work to provide assistance as quickly and efficiently as possible. The City of Penticton has activated its Emergency Operations Centre and is serving as a host community for evacuees. Meals and refreshments are being provided for evacuees at the PTCC and Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT) is onsite providing pet support services. Emergency Support Services (ESS) If you are safe, please self-register with ESS by calling 1-800-387-4258. Registration for evacuees is available at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, 273 Power Street. The Penticton Community Centre will be open until 6 p.m. today providing free showers, washrooms and a kids' play zone. ESS informational pamphlets for evacuees and ESS info sheet Donations Please note that donations are not being accepted at the ESS Reception Centre at this time, as food and essential services are being provided. Donations may be directed to local charitable organizations and thrift stores. The Community Foundation of Okanagan-Similkameen is accepting financial donations for those affected by the fires. Animals and Pets ALERT is on-site at the ESS Reception Centre and is providing animal care services. For assistance, call 250-490-6531 or 250-328-4748.
