This alert was cancelled because “there is no reasonable expectation the public, in Alberta, will be able to action the instructions in the alert,” a news release from Alberta RCMP said. Const. Sandra Geiger, could not comment on what criteria was not met to end the alert but noted that while the alert has ended in Alberta and B.C. there is still an active alert in Northwest Territories. RCMP said Lanakai was last seen in Fort St. John at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. The suspect is Krista Morrison, the boy’s biological mother, who police describe as being five-foot-eight inches tall, with long dark brown hair. They are believed to be travelling with Ludwig, 35, who police describe as a white male, five-foot-eleven inches tall, with a large build, shaved head, and brown eyes. RCMP would not comment on why the four year old wasn’t part of the initial Amber Alert. In an update Friday, RCMP allege Lanakai was taken by Morrison from Valhalla Centre, near Beaverlodge, on Tuesday. The initial Amber Alert went out Wednesday in the immediate area but was later expanded on Thursday to include B.C., where the boy was last seen. A vehicle linked to the case, a 2015 black Toyota Tundra, with the Alberta license plate CTN6517, has been located by police. RCMP now believe they are driving in a 2006 Red Ford F350, with the Alberta license plate CXW8820. Police say do not approach them and instead call 911. Alberta RCMP are still asking for anyone with information to call police. ticrawford@postmedia.com B.C. crime news: Man swings longboard in unprovoked bus stop attack News B.C. crime news: Man swings longboard in unprovoked bus stop attack Developer of 26-storey Vancouver tower seeks exemption that would obscure 'precious' views of North Shore mountains Real Estate Developer of 26-storey Vancouver tower seeks exemption that would obscure 'precious' views of North Shore mountains Advertisement 1 Story continues below This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.
