Lanakai was taken by his mother, 35-year-old, Krista Morrison from Valhalla Centre, near Beaverlodge, Alta. Beaverlodge RCMP have confirmed there was a sighting of Lanakai on the morning of July 8, 2026, in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Beaverlodge RCMP are working with our RCMP partners and police forces in British Columbia to safely locate Lanakai. There have been a number of sightings in British Columbia and police are actively investigation any leads. Efforts to locate Lanakai remain ongoing. Lanakai is still believed to be with his biological mother, Krista Morrison, her partner Daniel Ludwig and another child, 4-year-old Karl Morrison. If the public has any information on Lanakai’s whereabouts, please call 911, or Beaverlodge RCMP at 780-354-2955, or your local police immediately.
