China influence, B.C. resources and the evidence line: what the Dallas Brodie post proves — and what it does not
Dallas Brodie’s Facebook post turns a Bob Mackin screenshot into a sweeping claim that the CCP is using Indigenous land politics to take Canada. The records support a serious China-influence source trail — diplomatic outreach, First Nations-China resource strategy material, alleged overseas police stations, foreign-interference warnings, Winnipeg lab security concerns, fentanyl precursor questions and Carney/Brookfield transparency questions — but they do not prove the whole country is “controlled by China.”

Bottom line: The Edward John / Fu Fengshan meeting and older First Nations-China strategy/totem-pole records are real source leads. The safer accountability question is how Canada and B.C. screen foreign-state influence around resources, rights, trade, diaspora pressure and politics — not whether Indigenous rights themselves are foreign-controlled.
The Facebook claim
Brodie wrote that Indigenous peoples were being used “to get the land” and then “China moves in,” calling it a CCP strategy to take the country without firing a bullet. Visible comments amplified the concern and named Sam Cooper, Carney and Eby. These comments are preserved as community reaction, not proof.
What the screenshots add
The first image says Grand Chief Edward John met China’s Consul-General Fu Fengshan. China’s own Vancouver consulate page lists “Consul General Fu Fengshan Meets with Grand Chief Edward John” dated 2026-08-28. The second image points to older “BC First Nations China Strategy” material and a 2010 totem-pole diplomacy record involving Edward John and Hu Jintao.
The bigger source trail
- Resources and DRIPA: B.C.’s Declaration Act is real and creates law-alignment, action-plan and agreement/shared-decision pathways. That does not prove Chinese control.
- Alleged overseas police stations: Public Safety, parliamentary and CBC/Global trails show real RCMP/parliamentary attention, with some investigations later reported closed without charges.
- Foreign interference: NSICOP/Hogue/CSIS-related source trails support serious concerns, but unnamed parliamentarian allegations require careful wording.
- Winnipeg lab: Qiu/Cheng source trails support a real security controversy over China-linked concerns.
- Fentanyl: DEA/U.S. source trails support China-origin precursor concerns, while B.C. fentanyl harm also involves domestic and transnational organized-crime networks.
- Carney/Brookfield: Carney’s Brookfield history supports transparency questions, not proof of CCP control.
